Hailing from the vibrant music scene of Minneapolis, Pelicant is an electrifying indie rock band that soars on stage with raw energy, emotional intensity, and an undeniable dancefloor allure. Formed in 2014, the four-piece ensemble quickly carved its niche in the local scene and has since captivated audiences with their punchy, guitar-driven melodies, infectious hooks, heartfelt lyrics, and powerful live performances. 

The Flock Unites: Pelicant's journey began when lead vocalist and guitarist Samuel Wilbur and lead guitarist Nicholas Christopulos, lifelong friends and musical kindred spirits, started writing music together. They recruited the virtuosic bassist Dan Knoflicek, whose pulsating basslines add a distinctive touch to their music. Completing the lineup with the explosive drumming talents of Luke Barrett, Pelicant was born, and the chemistry between its members was immediate.

Soaring Soundscapes: Pelicant's music transcends the boundaries of conventional rock, encompassing a sonic spectrum that fuses elements of 90’s rock, Disco, and the 2000s indie rock scene. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like the Strokes, Phoenix, and Daft Punk, they have crafted a signature sound that balances gritty, catchy riffs with emotionally charged lyrics and melodies. 

A Sea of Emotion: What sets Pelicant apart is their ability to infuse each song with profound emotion. Their lyrics are introspective and honest, delving into themes of self-discovery, the global climate crisis, and the frustrations of late stage capitalism. Wilbur’s evocative voice becomes a conduit for these emotions, delivering powerful performances that resonate deeply with listeners.
